Hello, Modern. Meetings & Music at the New Hyatt Place Keystone

Free breakfast at the newly-remodeled Hyatt Place Keystone means you have more in your budget to create the perfect mountain reception. Hire a local acoustic musician – it’s the perfect soundtrack for summer sunsets on the patio. Sip a cocktail as you take in lush mountain views and look for wildlife in the nearby wetland. In winter, host your event in the atrium, where you can see the snowy mountains and stay warm by the fireplace.

Perfect for: Groups who want hotel meeting space and on-site amenities.

Capture the Spirit of the Mountains in an Authentic Ski Lodge

Mountain House day lodge, set in Keystone’s original base area, offers a rustic slope-side setting with full A/V capabilities. The comfortable upstairs space offers plenty of natural light for engaging presentations or hands-on small team sessions. Follow your morning meeting with a hearty brunch and step outside for easy ski lift access. In summer, Mountain House is the perfect starting point for a Colorado-themed wildflower hike. Additionally, it’s walking distance from the new Hyatt Place.

Perfect for: Groups who want the real resort experience.

Break Out by the Lake

Breathe life into your next summer event with breakout sessions around the five-acre Keystone Lake. Ballrooms at the Keystone Lodge & Spa make this a fun, feasible option following keynotes and large presentations. Offer work sessions in the lakeshore pavilion, host a roundtable in the Adventure Center, or feature a panel discussion on the outdoor Plaza. Paddleboats are perfect for brainstorming mini-sessions, and a variety of lodging options around the lake make it all walkable.

Perfect for: Groups who want playful breakout sessions with the ease of adjacent ballrooms.

Combine Ski History and Colorado’s Finest Fare

Corporate and small-group retreats thrive in the cozy spaces of the recently-updated Ski Tip Lodge. Once a stage coach stop, this historic B&B is ideal for hands-on work. Host a team meeting (complete with tea, coffee and house-made breakfast) in the living room, where a stone fireplace helps capture the spirit of the mountains. In summer, the patio and surrounding mountain views offer a refreshing change of pace for an afternoon session. Close out the day with a four-course wine pairing dinner at the Ski Tip restaurant, an OpenTable.com Top 100 restaurant in North America.

Perfect for: Intimate retreats who want a creative buyout.

Glow Party on the Greens (This isn’t your Grandfather’s Golf Tournament)

Try a glow putting course at the Keystone Ranch Golf Course, where the dark night sky reveals incredible views of the Milky Way. (Pro tip: load up on glow bracelets for welcome bag amenities). On-site golf pros can help attendees hone their skills, while glow-in-the-dark lawn games allow play for all abilities. Let attendees roam between fun and buffet fare from the Keystone Ranch restaurant. Don’t let the casual atmosphere fool you – “The Ranch” is top-rated by Zagat, AAA and Wine Spectator.

Perfect for: Groups who want a fun summer reception combined with fine mountain food and views.

There is a lot of new happening around the state of Colorado. The number of recently introduced or upcoming venues for groups has definitely caught my attention. Here are just a few to consider.

On Feb. 23, Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs, part of North America’s largest family of indoor water park resorts, saluted its first anniversary with cake, balloons, pictures with Great Wolf Lodge’s signature characters, button making, a lemonade stand and more. With a conference center that features more than 20,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space spread out over eight configurable meeting rooms, as well as an adjoining patio, the property is an especially good option for groups with kids along for the outing.
