All it took was attending a Meeting Professionals International – Rocky Mountain Chapter meeting on a beautiful May morning to realize how stellar the views of City Park, Denver’s skyline and the Rocky Mountains are from the West Atrium side of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, which offers a variety of gathering spaces. The large windows frame the view, and there is no need for excessive décor as Mother Nature does the work here.

Teaming up can be tough when you operate in the same sector, but the Gateway Park Hotel Alliance has 10 hotels located in the same development area near Denver International Airport marketing 80,000 square feet of meeting and event space and 1,500 hotel rooms in tandem. There are two new options for classy private dining with the addition of Edge Restaurant at the Four Seasons Denver and Eight K Restaurant at Viceroy Snowmass. Edge’s three private dining spaces are located on one side of the eatery, and each has a full wall of glass to see all the action. One attaches directly to the kitchen, serving as a chef’s table. At Eight K, the two connecting spaces are tucked in the back for the ultimate in privacy, and the mountain chic decor will have your group oohing and aahing.

THE EDITOR’S PICK IS: Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

When starting with something as cool as the caverns that can be explored at this Glenwood Springs attraction, it forms a great base for something more. The adventure park keeps adding new features such as the zipline and bungee jump that will greet 2011 guests. The alpine coaster and canyon swing bring out the kid in anyone, and there’s laser tag, saloon photos, rock climbing, a 4D Ride Theater and more to entertain. This is an ideal place for a casual group experience such as a day of fun complemented picnic. There might be time for a meeting and a stop at the famous hot springs and quaint downtown.
