Green Conferences in Denver

Printer-friendly version

Starting today, Denver is hosting the Green Meeting Industry Council's annual Sustainable Meetings Conference through Thursday, Feb. 11.

Denver is becoming known as a city that dedicated to being green, and this conference helps further that notion as did all the sustainability initiatives put into play during the Democratic National Convention in August 2008.

At the GMIC conference, some of the finest up-and-coming students in the international meetings and incentive travel industry will take part in a Future Leaders Forum. The Future Leaders Forum provides an opportunity to encourage the next generation to embrace the green agenda as they set out in their careers. In addition to presentations, there will be a student challenge where attendees will be tasked with planning a perfect event for the future. Great idea!

While we are on the topic of green, it's a good time to mention the Sustainable Opportunities Summit + Expo held annually in Denver. Plan to be at the Colorado Convention Center from March 2 - 4 to tap into wisdom and inspiration shared by more than 60 speakers (including Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter) and the latest in products and services offered by 100 exhibitors.  The event is co-hosted by CORE, the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the Leeds School of Business, CU Boulder, and the City of Denver's Office of Economic Development.
