Winter Is in the Air

All planners know the importance of looking ahead—the earlier the details fall into place, the less stress one has to deal with as the event nears.

A smattering of event venues have started holding receptions decorated for holiday parties to give planners an idea of what a holiday event would look like there and to have soirees booked far in advance. We know Christmas in July sounds crazy, but it really is a planner’s dream. With all the heat and sunshine, winter feels light-years away.

Tips, Trends & Budget Maximizers for Your Event Flowers

Florists are like chefs these days. While there haven’t been many reality TV shows that feature floral designers, they are no longer backstage folks that mysteriously make events look wonderful. Their artistry with nature’s gifts is beginning to be recognized; their expertise in fields like art, architecture, interior design and landscaping are being woven into creations that are gracing the tables, stages, entrances, fence posts, archways, and nooks and crannies at all types of gatherings.

Venue Report: Lancaster Arts Hotel

If you read hotel marketing materials as much as I do, you’ll realize that many like to say they “feel just like home.” I’ve always taken issue with that – not because I don’t love my own home – but because when I travel I want my hotel to be different. I want to experience something unique and memorable. Comfortable, yes, but exactly like what I have at home…no thanks.

A Spring-Inspired Tablescape

WARM COLORS, ROMANTIC FLORALS, a touch of cascading leaves and strategically placed books intertwined to create the look of this unique tablescape, which was one of several featured at the eighth annual International Special Events Society Denver Designer Showcase held at Infinity Park International Ballroom in Denver. A rustic feel was woven throughout the tablescape design, created by Isabelle Kline Design, to authentically represent a wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa in Tabernash.
