• New Autograph Collection Hotel in Fort Collins Appoints General Manager

    POSTED October 23, 2017

Located in the center of old town, The Elizabeth will welcome Scott Sloan as general manager when it opens this fall. Sloan will oversee the new Autograph Collection hotel, developed by McWHINNEY, a Colorado-based national real estate development company, and Sage Hospitality, a national developer and the hotel’s operator.

Sloan is a 28-year veteran of the hospitality industry, 12 of that being with Sage Hospitality. In that time, he has built an outstanding reputation at each of the hotels under his management by driving revenue and exceeding customer service and guest satisfaction levels. Sloan was most recently the general manager at The Curtis Hotel, a DoubleTree by Hilton, and managed a team of eight executives and more than 200 employees. Sloan attended Texas A&M University and began his career in hospitality in College Station, Texas. It was here he discovered his passion for hospitality and quickly climbed the ranks, managing his first hotel, the Marriott Ogden in Ogden, Utah in 2008.
“I am pleased to be the general manager of The Elizabeth Hotel, which will bring a true upscale hospitality experience to the city of Fort Collins,” said Sloan. “We look forward to working closely with the community to showcase our one-of-a-kind offering to all of our guests – locals and travelers alike.”
The Elizabeth will be part of firehouse Alley, the mixed-use development area of Old Town Fort Collins. The highly-anticipated hotel will feature a modern design with a focus on community, music, expert design and service. The 3,500 sq. ft. of meeting space, including an outdoor terrace with views of Walnut Street, are perfect for any event. The hotel will feature local artists work and will celebrate the authenticity and adventurous spirit of Fort Collins. Blending elegance and design elements will give Fort Collins a destination that is truly unique.

Realize Colorado, a destination management company, recently announced that Tina Schwab has joined its staff as director of sales. In her new position, Schwab will be responsible for business development, working with local hotel owners and developing client relationships.

Sage Hospitality, one of the top hotel investment and management companies in the U.S., has announced Sonny Kerstiens as the regional director of sales and marketing overseeing Colorado’s JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek and California’s Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa.

Bruce Dalton celebrates one year as Visit Aurora’s President and CEO. Dalton has championed Aurora’s role in the local meetings and conventions market through fostering relationships with the newest property developments, meeting planners, and must-see visitor attractions.

“Since last April, we’ve made some significant changes in the right direction. To start, our team of four has grown to a team of 12 to support 60 hotel properties with more than 10,000 hotel rooms in Aurora and the surrounding Denver Metro,” said Dalton.
