General Manager Appointed at Jacquard Hotel

In early 2018, the Jacquard, part of the Autograph Collection will open with Jason Dorfman as its general manager in Denver. In the Cherry Creek North neighborhood, the hotel will be owned and operated by Stonebridge Companies, which is also based in Denver.

Visit Denver Hits Chicago

Chicago's Taste of Randolph Street Festival saw the return of Visit Denver this June. The Colorado CVB sponsored the festival's West Stage, christening it the Denver Live on the Rocks Stage and decorating it with a full-size replica of the Red Rocks Amphitheatre and hosting a VIP client event.

New National Food Experience Provides Food From 50 States

Flavored Nation, a new live experience that highlights the most iconic food from each of all 50 states, will be hosted at St. Louis' Dome at America's Center from Oct. 27-29. GateHouse Media, along with Richard Gore, will work together to produce this event for food-lovers across the nation. After conducting extensive research to identify each state's most iconic food, 12,000 attendees will be able to taste the 50 dishes all at one event.

Aspen Snowmass Announces 2018 Summer Plans: The Lost Forest

On June 20, Aspen Snowmass revealed a list of summer 2018 plans for the new Lost Forest on Snowmass Mountain. As Lost Forest was designed to intermingle with nature, the activities were intended to connect guests with their natural surroundings. These new activities include expanded hiking and biking trails, a canopy tour, an alpine coaster, a challenge course, and a climbing wall. The activities available at Lost Forest span all ages and activity levels, and are as follows.

2017 RISE Awards Honor MPI Professionals

On June 20, Meetings Professionals International revealed the winners of 2017's Recognizing Industry Success and Excellence Awards. The winners of the meeting and events industry were announced at MPI's 2017 World Education Congress in Las Vegas, and were celebrated at the MPI RISE Awards Presentation and Luncheon. The RISE Awards categories are split by community and individual achievement, with the seven awards focusing on innovation, impact and influence in the meetings and events industry, and global transferability.

Denver Breaks Tourism Record

The city of Denver has broken its own record, earning $5.3 billion in tourism revenue in 2016. Based on the Longwoods International annual visitor profile study, Denver welcomed 31.5 million visitors (including 17.3 million overnight visitors) and is rising as a top tourism destination.

Bremen's Wine & Dine Opened in June

Bremen's Wine & Tap in Denver opened its doors on Wednesday, June 21, serving brunch starting at 10 a.m., following with lunch, happy hour and dinner service, closing at 10 p.m. The team at the LoHi restaurant was very excited to open its doors, after months spent doing construction, training and tasting. CHIHULY Welcomes Visitors to New York City for Summer Days & CHIHULY Nights

One of the most exciting events this summer for visitors of New York City is CHIHULY, an exhibit at The New York Botanical Garden. Artist Dave Chihuly created the artworks in the exhibit to be a sensory-filled experience offered between spring and fall, including art programs for children, weekend celebrations and CHIHULY nights.

Make-A-Wish America recently awarded The Ritz-Carlton, Denver the "Most Innovative Wish" in 2016 because of the hotel’s creativity and partnership with Make-A-Wish Colorado. In the fall of 2016, the two organization worked together for Christopher, a child with a rare and aggressive brain tumor, to help make true his wish of becoming a vampire.
