Signature Drink: Yamparika

INGREDIENTS
—1 oz. Bacardi Superior Rum
—1 oz. Bacardi Oakheart Spiced Rum
—.5 oz. Myer’s Dark Rum
—.5 oz. Salted spiced caramel
—hot apple cider
—apple slice
—cinnamon stick

DIRECTIONS
Line an Irish coffee glass or hot coffee mug with salted spiced caramel made with a good quality caramel and sea salt added. Pour first four ingredients into glass. Top with hot apple cider. Stir until ingredients are well mixed. Garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick. 

Signature Drink: Connoisseur Cup Punch

INGREDIENTS
— 2 cups Breckenridge Gin
— 1/2 cup Dolin Blanc Vermouth (do not substitute another dry vermouth, but if necessary use Lillet Blanc)
— 2 cups Teakoe’s Kodiak Mountain Mint Tea (prepared from tea bags)
— 1 cup lavender syrup*
— 1 cup fresh lemon juice (fresh squeezed the day punch is made)

DIRECTIONS
Combine, stir and serve chilled over ice with a lemon slice and thyme sprig. Serves eight people with two full servings each

Signature Drink: Adrift Tiki Bar White Wave

INGREDIENTS:
—2 oz. Prairie Organic Gin 
—1 oz. apricot brandy
—1 oz. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
—1 oz. creme of coconut

DIRECTIONS:
Pour in shaker over ice, shake and strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Garnish with a lemon wheel or flowers and a pineapple frond.

Signature Drink: Gin is Vodka, Green with Envy

INGREDIENTS
—1.75 oz. CapRock Gin
—.75 oz. Lillet Blanc
—.5 oz. rosemary simple syrup
—.5 oz. lemon juice
—4 sugar snap peas, muddled, and extra for garnish

DIRECTIONS
1. Muddle snap peas with ingredients in a Boston shaker.
2. Shake vigorously.
3. Double strain into a rocks glass over ice.
4. Garnish with sliced peas.

Cherry Creek North on the Move

Continuing my tour of new Denver hotels, I had the good fortune of visiting Cherry Creek North’s Halycon, which opened in August 2016 and was the first new lodging property in this hip, high-end district to open in a decade, with more coming online in the near future.

Signature Drink: Hanging Chad

Ingredients
—2 oz. Grey Goose La Poire vodka
—.5 oz. St-Germain elderflower liqueur
—.5 oz. lemon and lime sour mix
—.5 oz. pomegranate puree
—splash of Sprite

Directions
Add the splash of Sprite or any lemon/ lime soda to a chilled martini glass. Place the Grey Goose, St-Germain and sour mix in a shaker with ice and shake. Pour into the martini glass and add pomegranate puree, which will settle to the bottom to create a layered effect.

Signature Drink: S’mores Martini

INGREDIENTS
—1 oz. marshmallow vodka
—1 oz. Richardo’s Decaf Coffee Liqueur
—1 oz. cream
—chocolate syrup
—graham cracker crumbs
—toasted marshmallows

DIRECTIONS
Dip the rim of a martini glass in a shallow dish of chocolate syrup and then in a dish of fine graham cracker crumbs. Combine marshmallow vodka, Richardo’s Decaf Coffee Liqueur and cream in a martini shaker with ice. Pour into glass and garnish with toasted marshmallows.
