Bruce Dalton celebrates one year as Visit Aurora’s President and CEO. Dalton has championed Aurora’s role in the local meetings and conventions market through fostering relationships with the newest property developments, meeting planners, and must-see visitor attractions.

“Since last April, we’ve made some significant changes in the right direction. To start, our team of four has grown to a team of 12 to support 60 hotel properties with more than 10,000 hotel rooms in Aurora and the surrounding Denver Metro,” said Dalton.

The visitor industry is an important economic engine for area businesses and residents. “In 2016 alone, more than $45 million in local tax revenue from direct tourism spending benefited the City of Aurora,” said Dalton.

Research shows that there is a significant return on investment made by marketing the destination through tourism. There is an opportunity and need for an enhanced competitive position and significant growth in visitor spending. Aurora should expect a dramatic expansion in efforts to drive demand and increase visibility to attract convention and leisure travelers. “Big things are happening in Aurora, and we can’t wait to reveal what’s next,” said Dalton.

With nearly 20 years of hotel and resort industry experience, Jess Johnson’s appointment to director of sales at Cheyenne Mountain Colorado Springs, A Dolce Resort comes at a key point in the resort’s history.

With more than a decade of experience with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Kathy Hastings will be serving as the Food & Beverage Director and Randall Baldwin as the Executive Chef at the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek.

The Ritz-Carlton, Denver has announced Tabish Siddiquie as its new General Manager.
