Antlers at Vail is making progress on its expansive new lobby space after the 5 million-dollar renovation project broke ground in April. Expected to be completed by December 2019, the Antlers crew looks forward to greeting guests with a fresh new space imprinted with a real Vail aesthetic.

After hearing from guests, the Antlers crew recognized the desire for the new lobby to include an alternative gathering space. “Guests really liked the idea of Antlers providing a ‘third place’ communal environment that could double as a festive space for special occasions and events,” says general manager Magda King. The lobby area will cater to groups of all sizes with several different seating groupings.

In addition to the flexible lobby, the renovation will include a fully fitted and furnished separate office that will be available for guest rental on a daily basis. The property’s elevator will also be replaced and relocated in order to better serve guests.

Casey St. John Interiors is spearheading project design with intentions to update, but also preserve the authentic Vail character. Pops of color and elements of wood, metal and stone will fill the new space to create a timeless ski lodge vibe.

The property’s name and the bronze sculpture of two dueling elk in The Antlers’ courtyard helped personalize the new interiors. “In mountain resort interior design, there is a bit of a cliche associated with using antlers as decor, but we are finding fresh and creative ways to incorporate this sculptural natural element, and namesake to the property,” says Casey St. John Interiors’ principal, Amy Casey. Similarly, a striking color palette provides a fun and welcoming note, she explains. “We thought it was time to bring some color back into the mix. A combination of reds, blues, grays and browns, leather and rich natural textures warms things up, and the use of some bold color in this space will be memorable for guests and we think will stand the test of time.”

Antlers at Vail is currently offering a Hard Hat Special that includes 30% off on stays through September 30, 2019. Each reservation comes with a chocolate hammer and squishy hard hat-shaped “stress relievers” to thank guests for their patience throughout the construction.

Larger communities host citywides, while mountain resorts are more about “villagewides.” Taking this concept to heart, Beaver Creek has introduced a new collaborative website to help meeting planners envision multi-venue and multi-hotel meetings and events for groups of 150 to 1,500 guests at the Colorado ski resort and to submit RFPs. 

 

Colorado’s Meeting and Events Incentive Program was introduced to assist in the state’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. As an added bonus, it also will help groups get back into the practice of meeting face-to-face. Here’s a brief overview to help determine if your gathering might qualify.

How Does It Work?

 

The first property of the Limelight Hotel brand, Limelight Hotel Aspen has undergone a full makeover and will begin welcoming guests back at the start of the 2021/22 ski season in November 2021. Located next to Wagner Park in downtown Aspen, the upgrades include all 126 guestrooms and suites and public spaces such as the Limelight Lounge, conference room, lobby and bar. Guests and groups will notice a new arrival experience, expanded seating for dining, and relocation of the lounge’s stage area to better accommodate events.
