• The Broadmoor Expands with new Event Spaces

The Broadmoor is expanding its meetings and events capabilities with its new exhibition hall and Mountain Clubhouse spaces. The property is expanding to better accommodate trade shows and other larger meetings and events, which will be best suited in the new exhibition hall. The Mountain Clubhouse is meant to offer a Colorado-inspired event space for small to medium groups.

Barry Brown, The Broadmoor's vice president of sales and marketing, says the resort's location, outdoor experiences and high marks for service by Forbes and AAA are reasons for its popularity among corporate meetings and events.

Situated at the gateway to the Colorado Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, the property encompasses 5,000 acres and 784 rooms, suites and cottages. The property also boasts a championship golf course, a Forbes Five-Star spa and fitness center, 23 retail boutiques, 10 restaurants and 10 additional cafes and lounges, including Colorado's only Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond restaurant Penrose Room.

With access to all of The Broadmoor's amenities and outdoor activities, including mountain biking, hiking and paintball, Brown says the property is great for groups looking to add some adventure to the agenda. The Broadmoor also owns and manages Seven Falls and The Broadmoor Soaring Adventure zip-line courses, which Brown says are good options for team-building or networking sessions.

"We have all the space you need for a major event or trade show, but that's paired with one incredible amenity that most exhibition halls just don't have; access to the great outdoors," he says.

Because of their differing sizes, the exhibition hall and Mountain Clubhouse are suitable for groups of all sizes. Brown says the Mountain Clubhouse is a perfect new location for small to medium weddings, inspirational family reunions and corporate gatherings. The exhibition hall will exclusively be available to multi-purpose exhibits and events held in conjunction with The Broadmoor for multi-day conferences.

With the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, most people are working from home. Many are social distancing or quarantining with their children, who have transitioned to online classes. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops, offices, stores and so much more have been temporarily shut down in many states, affecting daily life in the most unexpected of ways.

 

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday recommended that all gatherings of more than 50 people be cancelled or postponed for the next eight weeks, in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. The recommendation covers events like parades, concerts, festivals, conferences, sporting events, weddings and more.
