Anyone who has spent much time in the meetings and events industry knows that the people involved tend to be a social bunch. That’s especially true for the industry associations with chapters in Colorado. It was hard to keep these crews contained during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s nice to see association gatherings back in action, ranging from happy hours and education sessions to annual galas.

National Association of Catering & Events (NACE) Denver never disappoints with some of the most creative events every year. The photos from Yappy Hour held at the Watering Bowl, a dog-friendly bar and patio in Denver, on June 14 are sure to make you smile.

Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Southern Colorado Chapter gathered at The Antlers, A Wyndham Hotel in downtown Colorado Springs for a lunch and learn on June 15. In his presentation “A Game You Must Win,” speaker Will Matthews discussed how the external challenges of today are also are providing an opportunity for teams and association members to tap into new levels of resiliency, reinvention and creative solutions and to let go of approaches that don't work.

Members of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Rocky Mountain Chapter were encouraged to wear Oscar/cocktail attire for “A Night with the MPI Stars.” The chapter’s annual gala and auction was held on June 17 at Roof16 in Denver. Member awards were presented throughout the evening as attendees embarked on a multiple floor immersive experience.

Wyoming’s Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole has introduced the results of a major renovation in time for summer season. All suites, guest rooms and public hallways have been fully refreshed utilizing subtle colors and earth elements such as woods and metals.

One of the nicest things about The Gant Aspen is the condominium resort’s location on the fringe of downtown Aspen in a residential area. It’s peaceful and quiet with waterfalls at the entrance and lush landscaping throughout but situated only a few blocks from shops, restaurants, and skiing at Aspen Mountain.

Eco-Friendly

Denver-based Urban Villages has launched construction of the 265-room Populus at 14th Street and Colfax Avenue in the Civic Center Park area. Slated for completion in late 2023, the country’s first carbon positive hotel is ironically being built on the site of Colorado’s first gas station.
