The ART Hotel, located in Denver’s museum district, has introduced a 5K urban public art run. Guests can request a detailed map featuring a route that highlights downtown Denver’s most significant public art pieces, and guides are available if desired.

Denver’s first chef-driven farmers market has launched and runs every Saturday until Oct. 24 due to a partnership between the Boulder County Farmers Market, Denver Union Station and prominent area chefs.

The new Jessup Farm artisan village in Fort Collins features businesses focused on handcrafted and locally sourced products and utilizes rebuilt and remodeled chicken coops, a loafing shed, a saddle shop and old barn. A new restaurant, The Farmhouse at Jessup Farm, is located in a 130-year-old home and utilizes the village’s small farm and garden.

For the first time, Minturn Anglers is offering helicopter fly fishing to allow anglers access to private Colorado waters and streamside fine dining. Custom itineraries can be built for groups.

Smith Fork Ranch near Crawford has started offering a horseback riding and foraging experience led by one of the ranch’s chefs. Guests depart on a guided ride in search of mushrooms and other local delicacies and return to the ranch to create a meal using the ingredients paired with produce from the ranch’s farmstead.

Vail Mountain has introduced Epic Discovery featuring learn-throughplay elements that provide guests with hands-on information and activities about forest health, wildlife and mountain geography and includes Game Creek Canopy Tour, Forest Flyer alpine coaster and an expanded trail system for hiking and exploring.

Food Lab is a new cooking studio located in downtown Boulder that helps enhance culinary skills and food and wine knowledge and teams up with local chefs to teach classes and create unique menus.

The popularity of food halls continues in Denver with the upcoming opening of Stanley Marketplace in 2016, once headquarters of Stanley Aviation and soon home to a park, beer hall, multiple restaurants, boutique shops and more. 

Denver-based Urban Villages has launched construction of the 265-room Populus at 14th Street and Colfax Avenue in the Civic Center Park area. Slated for completion in late 2023, the country’s first carbon positive hotel is ironically being built on the site of Colorado’s first gas station.

 

When thinking about Fort Collins, my mind always goes to great beer and a vibrant downtown historic district. The community is home to more than 20 craft breweries, including the fourth largest U.S. craft brewer, New Belgium Brewing Co. However, there is a significant artsy side that groups should plug into as well when meeting in this northern Colorado community.
