When planning a gathering, make sure to check a destination’s calendar of events for festivals, concerts and noteworthy exhibitions. Leslie Heins and Lisa Cook, owners and event architects of Denver-based Affair with Flair, demonstrated how this can be done with a social occasion, which easily could have been a corporate event in conjunction with the Denver Art Museum’s recent blockbuster “Dior: From Paris to the World” that wrapped up in March 2019.
Denver Art Museum
The completion of Denver Art Museum’s (DAM) ambitious North Building project coincides with the building’s 50th anniversary in 2021. Designed by world-renowned Italian architect Gio Ponti and Denver-based James Sudler Associates, the North Building opened to the public in 1971. When renovations are complete, it will house the majority of DAM’s permanent collection galleries.
These fun options provide opportunities for smaller groups to join in or perhaps larger groups can ask for something similar.
Denver Art Museum
Untitled Final Fridays, February - October, 6-10 p.m
DAM’s monthly late night program features workshops, performances and tours with a twist. For example, on July 29, gather a crew and band together for a night of synchronized moves and creative collaborations. On Sept. 30, it’s all about dance, photography and artworks expressing time.
There is a broad spectrum of colorful ways to integrate art into meetings and events this summer and beyond in Denver. Beginning May 27 and the rest of summer, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver is staying open until 9 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Visitors can experience the museum for only $5 after 5 p.m.; enjoy the rooftop café and outdoor deck and garden; sample cocktails and foods from local purveyors on Wednesday nights; and enjoy live music in the rooftop garden on Friday nights.
