• DoubleTree Reading Now Welcoming Guests

The DoubleTree by Hilton Reading has officially opened its doors and is welcoming guests with their signature warm chocolate chip cookies in hand.

The 209-room, eight-story hotel features a modern interior designed by RD Jones & Associates, with urban rustic décor, wood accents and a soft color palette. Local artwork adorns the walls and guest rooms have 43" HDTVs, mini refrigerators and safes. 

Other complimentary offerings include Wi-Fi throughout the hotel's public areas and guest rooms, a 24-hour business center, a 24-hour fitness center and an indoor swimming pool. There is free garage parking and shuttle service within a 5-mile radius of the hotel.

As part of its grand opening, the hotel introduced the restaurant Cheers American Bistro, open for all-day dining with seasonal menus that feature farm-to-table entrees, such as g burgers, salads, steaks and seafood.

With 27,500 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a 12,000-squar-foot ballroom, the hotel can hold events of up to 1,300 people. For smaller groups, the hotel offers the Meetings Simplified by DoubleTree by Hilton package from $59.49 per person, which includes the meeting room, basic meeting Wi-Fi, supplies including a flipchart, markers, extension and power cord, and all day non-alcoholic beverage service. Catering services and a dedicated event staff also are available.

Aventri, a leader in events management software (EMS), recently released ‘The Top 100 Meeting and Event Venues in the United States’ for 2019. The company took the ten top-rated meeting and event cities in the United States and picked the top ten venues in each area, compiling a list of 100 highly-regarded spaces. 

The guide identifies the two most valuable factors in attendee satisfaction as venue location and activities in the host city, followed by capacity, uniqueness and proximity to local attractions.

 

Since The Armstrong Hotel temporarily closed on January 1 to undergo a full property renovation and redesign, the property has reopened with an expanded lobby space, upgraded suites and a complete interior refresh and redesign.

 

This year's Southwest Colorado Tourism Summit will be hosted by Visit Durango at the Strater Hotel in downtown Durango, Colorado. From April 18-19, The Durango Area Tourism Office will present the summit, guest speakers, presenters and more.
