For the past five years, Destination Colorado has been switching up its Customer Appreciation Event from golf to experiential. This year, partner suppliers helped host planners for a private dinner reception at Red Rocks Amphitheatre followed by a 1964 Beatles tribute band performance. Nostalgic costume items, a photo booth and a roped-off seating section at Red Rocks were part of the fun.
The 16th annual Meetings Industry Council of Colorado Educational Conference & Trade Show once again broke attendance records and was held on March 17 at Denver’s Colorado Convention Center. An opening educational event for meeting planners and reception kicked off the event on March 16. Next year’s conference date is March 15, 2017.
Members of the International Special Events Society (ISES) Denver Chapter relaxed and networked in the “safe house” before being divided into five “families” for a Godfather-themed culinary meeting on August 26. The families battled to come up with the perfect crostini topping but only after all weapons were checked at the door of Italian-inspired Baldoria on the Water in Lakewood. An outline of a body on the floor, flickering candles in rock-hewn alcoves and crime tape helped set the stage.
The National Association of Catering & Events Denver Chapter, with the help of Catering By Design, explored the bounty of Colorado farms on a pleasant summer evening at blanc in Denver. At this plated dinner, members learned about Colorado products, best ways to prepare the abundance, what produce is best during the different months of the state’s growing season, and where to buy locally sourced products like bison, quinoa and honey.
