The Meetings Industry Council (MIC) of Colorado hosted a record 1,210 registered attendees for its 18th annual conference and trade show on March 13-14 at the Colorado Convention Center. MIC of Colorado is a coalition of 13 professional organizations related to the meetings and events industry.
Approximately 480 representatives of the meetings and events industry gathered on March 12 at Denver Place in downtown Denver to celebrate the 12th annual Colorado Meetings + Events Best of 2018 readers’ choice awards and Hall of Fame induction. The event served as the kickoff for Colorado Meetings Week in tandem with the MIC of Colorado Educational Conference and Trade Show. Thank you to our event sponsors and partners!
Thirteen meetings industry-related organizations joined forces as the Meetings Industry Council of Colorado to coordinate and host the 24th annual Serving Up Hope Luncheon on Nov. 7 at Denver Mart. More than 700 industry professionals attended and raised more than $30,000 for Food Bank of the Rockies’ Denver’s Table program. Food sta - tions receiving awards included Marriott Denver Tech Center for Best Appetizer, Renaissance Denver Stapleton Hotel for Best Entrée, Rialto Cafe for Best Dessert, and Scratch Catering Services for People’s Choice.
The annual Front Range Trade Show is the place where meeting and event planners and suppliers from around the state gather to network and book business. Destination Colorado’s 21st annual event happened on Dec. 6 at The Hangar at Stanley, located in Aurora’s Stanley Marketplace.
Denver’s McNichols Civic Center Building was decked out Willy Wonka style on June 20, 2017, for the ninth annual International Live Events Association (ILEA) Denver Excellence Awards. Members and guests celebrated the accomplishments of their peers and enjoyed cocktails, dinner and dancing. A team of judges from the Chicago chapter of ILEA selected the winners.
For the past five years, Destination Colorado has been switching up its Customer Appreciation Event from golf to experiential. This year, partner suppliers helped host planners for a private dinner reception at Red Rocks Amphitheatre followed by a 1964 Beatles tribute band performance. Nostalgic costume items, a photo booth and a roped-off seating section at Red Rocks were part of the fun.
The International Live Event Association – Denver Chapter hosted its 12th annual Designer Showcase on Feb. 21 at Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel in Lone Tree. The event highlighted collaborative efforts of members and other event colleagues in the form of four trendsetting vignettes, each illustrating a city where an ILEA chapter is located. The Meetings Industry Council (MIC) of Colorado hosted a record attendance of over 1,200 attendees at the 17th Annual MIC Educational Conference & Trade Show on March 14-15 at the Colorado Convention Center (CCC). This is the first year a second day was added for all attendees. Next year’s conference will be held March 13-14, 2018 at CCC.
The National Association of Catering & Events Denver Chapter pulled out all the stops for “Speakeasy – A Gatsby Affair,” an awards gala held at the new Larimer Social in downtown Denver on Feb. 16.
