• Gateway Canyons Announces New Hire

Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa in Colorado has announced its appointment of Stephen Johnson as general manager of the hotel.

Johnson brings years of executive-leve, strategic leadership and operations development experience to his new role. He will be responsible for all guest and hotel associate experiences at the resort in addition to finances of the property.

“As a seasoned hospitality professional with exceptional experience, Stephen is the ideal candidate to join our elite team of hospitality professionals,” says Pat Colee, founder and chairman, Noble House Hotels & Resorts, which manages the hotel. “His unique expertise will certainly complement Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa’s position as a leader in delivering one-of-a-kind adventure and luxury to our guests.”

 

According to a survey commissioned by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), frequent travelers feel safer when hotels adhere to AHLA's Stay Safe guidelines, which detail cleaning protocols for hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

So far, webcams and Zoom meetings have been an essential part of 2020. While digital options are functional placeholders for meetings, chatting with a coworker over Skype doesn’t always set up a team for success. Human connection is vital to team building, and hosting safe, small meetings is a great way to revitalize teams after months of working from home.

 

Through responses to bi-weekly surveys, Global Business Travel Association members have indicated that domestic busines travel is ramping up after months of struggle.
