Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa, a Noble House resort located in the heart of the American West, has created a new all-inclusive group retreat program allowing attendees to experience an action-packed, motivational, and customized four-day trip in western Colorado.

After being transported to the property in the resort’s fleet of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, guests can enjoy a welcome reception with hors d’oeuvres, live-action stations, and an open bar at the Gateway Canyons Auto Museum, which features a collection of more than 50 luxury cars. Day two can include a guided nature hike and a make-your-own team-building course including hatchet-throwing, archery, and corn hole. Attendees can also enjoy class lawn games such as giant Jenga, yard pong, ladder toss and bocce ball. The day concludes with a customized four-course dinner in one of the resort’s spacious venues, including the Mission Bell Amphitheatre, Cottonwood Terrace, or the indoor ballroom at the Palisade Event Center.

Taking advantage of the property’s location among the red rock canyons, day three of the retreat starts with a sunrise group yoga session followed by free time to enjoy a wide variety of activities such as helicopter tours, UTV rides, horseback riding at the Palisade Ranch and jeep tours. Guests can then explore the Gateway Canyons Auto Museum further and enjoy the resort’s amenities including its three swimming pools, hiking, mountain biking, and full-service spa with rejuvenating treatments. As a finale, the resort hosts a Red Cliffs experience taking place in the property’s private canyon with stunning sunset views, dinner, musical entertainment and more.

The National Association of Catering & Events gathered on Sept. 11 at the Denver Botanic Gardens to commemorate the NACE’s 10th anniversary and provide a glimpse into the future. A panel of several founding members—Monica Cheeks of Hyatt Hotels, Cal Cheney of All Digital Photo & Video, Amanda Michalek of AORN and Brandi Pressgrove of Reckon Creative—discussed how the chapter got started, favorite programs from the past and how networking through NACE has helped grow their businesses and more.

Kicking off a new year with a few trend predictions is always fun, so here are some culinary and cocktail insights from two of Denver’s market halls that are nice options for groups.

The culinary pros at two of Colorado’s largest and best-known meetings and events properties, The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and Sheraton Denver Downtown, pulled out all the stops for the 2018 holiday season to impress groups and guests with incredible gingerbread art. It made me think that on a smaller scale, this could be a fun team-building activity for groups!
