Ever think cliff camping is way beyond your group’s grasp? With Estes Park-based Kent Mountain Adventure Center (1), interested individuals and groups learn the basics of climbing and have the assistance of a guide in setting up a wall camp to enjoy the views over Rocky Mountain National Park. 

The hour-long Colorado Springs Happy Hour Tour (2) introduces the art and history of downtown Colorado Springs. The excursion starts at Phantom Canyon Brewing Company and is held on the third Thursday evening of the month from April to October. Several other tours are offered by Downtown Colorado Springs. 

Snow Mountain Ranch (3) in Granby now offers a tubing hill throughout the summer and fall, allowing eight riders to tube at once. This is only the third tubing hill of its kind in the United States. snowmountainranch.org Whole Journeys, Whole Food Market’s new travel company, has introduced a three-day Aspen Hiking and Tasting Tour (4). Daily hiking options range from active to challenging and are guided by Aspen Alpine Guides. Trail lunches are made with local and Whole Foods Market’s products, tasting tours at local producers like Woody Creek Distillers and Avalanche Cheese Creamery, and a barbeque dinner at T-Lazy 7 featuring responsibly raised meats. 

Bicyclists visit local farms, meet the farmers and indulge in a three-course lunch on a farm during Boulder Bike to Farm Tours with Awe-Struck Outdoors. The tours are available on various Thursday evenings in summer and fall and during the Tour des Farms Festival. 

Geo Tours in Morrison has joined forces with Mountain Toad Brewery and Golden City Brewery to introduce a Boats & Beers brewery tour and rafting trip. A halfday rafting trip on the Class III waters of Clear Creek is followed by a brewery excursion. 

Vail Valley Food Tours link visitors to the rich history and extensive culinary offerings in Vail and Beaver Creek. Three-hour walking tours are offered throughout the week with two options to select from: Art & Après Beaver Creek and Vail Village Food Tasting & Historical Walking Tour. Private tours for groups of six to 12 also are available. 

Fort Collins Tours and Colorado Carriage and Wagon have teamed up to offer a Covered Wagon Historical Tour of Fort Collins. Participants hear stories about the homes, mansions, businesses and streets of Old Town and the surrounding area and learn about cowboys, scoundrels and founding fathers and mothers. The tours are available on several Sunday afternoons in the summer.

It’s that time of year when groups are readying plans for holiday events, and employers are looking at how to celebrate their teams. In the fall 2022 issue of Colorado Meetings + Events, we looked at the state of holiday gatherings and found that they indeed are on the rebound. Some gatherings are going big after two years of not getting together or generally scaling back, while others are opting for in-office parties, small dinners, or community service projects.

Triple Creek Ranch in Darby, Montana, has named Molly Smith and Kristen Snavely co-general managers of the all-inclusive luxury property situated in the Bitterroot Valley. Smith is returning to Triple Creek Ranch after a brief hiatus. Previously serving as GM for four years after working her way up from pastry chef, she has since perfected her skills at The Inn at Hastings Park in Massachusetts, another Relais & Châteaux property.
