Vail Resorts and Whistler Blackcomb Complete Combination

Vail Resorts, Inc. has completed its combination with Whistler Blackcomb Holdings, Inc. As a result, Vail Resorts receives 100 percent of Whistler Blackcomb’s stock whose shareholders in turn will receive $17.50 and 0.09 shares of Vail’s stock for each Whistler Blackcomb share they hold. This makes Vail Resorts the sole owner of Whistler Blackcomb.

Vail Resorts also has appointed Michele Romanow to the board of directors at Vail Resorts. Romanow was previously on Whistler Blackcomb’s board.

Westin Galleria Dallas Completes Multimillion-Dollar Renovation

The Westin Galleria Dallas has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation to the property. Every inch of the hotel has been updated, including the 448 guest rooms and 10 suites, the lobby, the 54,000-square-feet of meeting space and the hotel’s restaurant.

LA Rams Football Stars, First Guests at Waterfront Hotel

Rams football legends Rosey Grierm Dennis Harrah, Nolan Cromwell and LeRoy Irvin along with their teammates were the first guests to stay at the newly-opened Shade Hotel Redondo Beach.

“It was an honor to welcome the Rams Legends as our very first guests at the eagerly awaited phase one opening of Shade Redondo Beach,” said Michael Zislis, owner of Shade Hotels. “We are excited to have the Rams back in Los Angeles, and it was a magical way to celebrate the pinnacle opening of our newest Shade Hotel.”

Scottsdale Plaza Resort Revealed Newly Renovated Suites

With 40 acres of land, 400 guest rooms, and 180 luxury suites, Scottsdale Plaza Resort has built a solid reputation. Solidifying this reputation is a renovation to their standard rooms.

The changes include new bathtubs, larger closet and vanity areas, granite counters and more.

“In less than six months we have gone from a ranking of 61 on Trip Advisor to 16, so clearly the renovations to our standard rooms contributed to that,” says Sheryl Bettencourt, director of marketing for the resort.

The Crawford Hotel Expands Denver Union Station Program


The Crawford Hotel, located in the historical and recently renovated Denver Union Station, has expanded their tour program of the train station. The tour, previously offered biweekly, will now be offered weekly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. The tour will feature Denver’s transportation, artwork, shops and restaurants located in the station, along with some of the unique rooms in the hotel.

Jellystone Park Opens Laser Tag

At the end of July, the Jellystone Park at Whispering Pines in East Tyler, Texas, opened its long-anticipated laser tag game.

The laser tag is just under an acre in size and can accommodate up to 20 guests.

“We’ve had a lot of interest in this, so we’re eager to have the game up and running for our guests to enjoy,” says Don Tardy, the park’s co-owner who bought the campground four years ago with his wife, Jan, and her two adult children, Colt and Bree Perrin.
