Located just 9 miles apart, Aspen and Snowmass Village are renowned winter playgrounds and supremely vibrant communities in summer and fall. However, they are cut from different cloth, and interwoven with different vibes that also manage to complement one another.
The Hotel Jerome and the Aspen Times Building in Colorado are in the process of expansion.
Designed by Rowland+Broughton, the renovation will expand the capacity of the hotel (which was built in 1889 and is a National Register Historic Place) by adding eight rooms and an addition next to the Aspen Times Building. The maximum unit size is 1,864 square feet per floor.
There have been several top-to-bottom hotel renovations in Colorado over the last year, and I’ve been getting out and about to see them as time allows. Each summer my family enjoys the Crested Butte to Aspen hike over West Maroon Pass, so it was a perfect chance to experience the St. Regis Aspen, which was classy before but went to ultra sophisticated in a comfortable way. For an outdoor event, the large Fountain Courtyard is hard to beat along with a nicely secluded and renovated outdoor pool and adjoining Mountain Plaza.
