Members of the International Special Events Society (ISES) Denver Chapter relaxed and networked in the “safe house” before being divided into five “families” for a Godfather-themed culinary meeting on August 26. The families battled to come up with the perfect crostini topping but only after all weapons were checked at the door of Italian-inspired Baldoria on the Water in Lakewood. An outline of a body on the floor, flickering candles in rock-hewn alcoves and crime tape helped set the stage.
It seems that I keep bumping up against things I don’t know. Whether it’s a fact I didn’t know or a place I wasn’t aware of before, it seems that at least several times a week I discover something new.It used to bother me and make me feel less "in the know," but now I put my ego aside and just enjoy the moment of basking in something new.
