Macy Pinkussohn was recently hired as the catering sales manager for the The Curtis Hotel in Denver.

1. What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I am so thrilled to be handling our social market—our brides are the best! Our brides always are so creative and I love hearing their new ideas. We are always trying new things with colors, lighting, setups and our food. Because the Curtis brings out the playful side in our clients and guests, everyone is excited to be there and enjoy a fabulous party.

2. How do you think your past experience has prepared you for this role?

My background is in operations, so I understand what it takes for the entire hotel to put on a wedding.  Specifically at the Curtis, I have seen all types of events and can help bring all of our brides’ big fabulous ideas into a flawless wedding in our space.

3. What goals do you have in mind for the company and your career growth for this year and farther down the line?

For now, I want to make The Curtis into a wedding hot spot. We have a fabulous outdoor patio in the heart of the city, a stunning 4,000-square-foot ballroom and fun touches throughout the hotel that make memorable experiences for our guests. I want to elevate the events we do and eventually open up our other properties with strong catering and events teams. 

4. What do you enjoy most about your career? 

I love where my career has taken me since starting as a banquet server 10 years ago. I started at the bottom with a great company and people who believed in me. As a student I was given chances to try new things and to sometimes fail at them. I have worked in different venues around the city and found my passion in food and beverage. Today I get to plan really fun events with great clients and a team that is constantly pushing to be better and more creative every day. I have the best job!

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role?
