Marsha Wilson recently become the Durango Area Tourism Office's sales manager.

What are you looking forward to most in your new position as Sales Manager for the Durango Area Tourism Office?
I’m very excited to be working with such a fantastic team and having input on organizational decisions. I’m always very motivated by being able to see the impact of my work on other people.

What are you hoping to achieve in this new role?
Tourism is big business and I have a strong desire to help make an economic impact for the city and county.

How have your previous experiences prepared you for this role?
My years of diverse experience have prepared me well for this role, along with my persistence of sharing how Durango will be a positive experience guests won’t want to miss.

How did you first get into the hospitality and tourism industry? 
My introduction to hospitality and tourism started with The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta in the early 1980s.

What do you enjoy most about the industry?
Meeting people of all walks of life and building on those relationships.

What are some of your favorite things about Durango so far?
I love how the community works so well together and the small town-feel with the beauty of the landscapes.
