The Sacramento/Sierra Nevada Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPISSN) recently presented three annual awards.

The Rena McDonald-Rising Star Award was won by Michael Hutchings, project coordinator of Statewide Conference and Events for AGC of California. The Rising Star Award recognizes MPI members devoting significant time and effort to the organization, but who have yet to attain a leadership status. These devoted members will become the future leaders of the MPI Sacramento/Sierra Nevada chapter.

The Chapter Leader of the Year Award, presented to Mary Cook, CMP, senior account executive at Sacramento Production and Lighting, recognizes the local commitment and outstanding service of a chapter member.

The Crystal Platter Award, recognizes the most outstanding venue in the area of facility, service, and food and beverage. This award was received by the Holiday Inn Sacramento - Capitol Plaza.

Wyoming’s Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole has introduced the results of a major renovation in time for summer season. All suites, guest rooms and public hallways have been fully refreshed utilizing subtle colors and earth elements such as woods and metals.

One of the nicest things about The Gant Aspen is the condominium resort’s location on the fringe of downtown Aspen in a residential area. It’s peaceful and quiet with waterfalls at the entrance and lush landscaping throughout but situated only a few blocks from shops, restaurants, and skiing at Aspen Mountain.

Denver-based Urban Villages has launched construction of the 265-room Populus at 14th Street and Colfax Avenue in the Civic Center Park area. Slated for completion in late 2023, the country’s first carbon positive hotel is ironically being built on the site of Colorado’s first gas station.
