Origin Red Rocks, a debut property from the Origin Hotel Collection, has opened its doors just 15 miles west of Denver, in Golden, Colorado. The historic gold rush town is known for its outdoor music, red sandstone rocks, outdoor adventure opportunities and its beer (the town brews more beer than any other town in America).

The 124-room, pet-friendly hotel and Red Rocks Suite will showcase a rotating selection of memorabilia from partner Red Rocks Amphitheatre’s collection. Each guestroom features complimentary Wi-Fi, a 49-inch television, Keurig coffee makers and a mini fridge. Origin Red Rocks also provides guests with shuttle access to and from Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

The hotel features a mix of classic rooms and loft-style suites with expanded square footage and bunkrooms, ideal for groups or families traveling together. Origin Red Rocks also features more than 5,000-square-feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space alongside state-of-the-art A/V services. Catering for all spaces is provided by Nomad Taqueria + Beer Garden.

Meeting spaces include:

  • Creation Rock Room: At 4,150 square feet, the Creation Rock Room is a large event space that can accommodate up to 300 and can be divided into two smaller meeting areas.
  • 6380’ Boardroom: The 669-square-foot boardroom seats 14 and includes large windows to showcase the mountainous views from Red Rocks Origin. The space is ideal for business meetings and breakout sessions.
  • Mosco Dining Room: This private dining room is located within Nomad Taqueria + Beer Garden. The space seats 14 people and features a 70-inch LED display.

Additionally, Origin Red Rocks itself features complimentary parking, Wi-Fi, water bottle refill station, a 1,000-square-foot gym featuring Rogue and GymRax equipment, and a host of amenities for guest’s furry companions in room.

Additional Origin hotels will open throughout the U.S. in 2018 and 2019 in Lexington, Kentucky, Raleigh, North Carolina and Westminster, Colorado.

There is a flurry of new and upcoming venues that have been announced in the Denver metropolitan area, Longmont and Fort Collins that are worthy of mention because they are distinct. There isn’t a cookie-cutter, you’ll-find-it-elsewhere space in the bunch!

Several organizations are collaborating on events from January through August 2019 for “celebrate bauhaus100: aspen,” which commemorates the impact of the Bauhaus art movement on Aspen. The theme “Our Legacy, Our Future/WorkPlay-Create” reflects Aspen’s Bauhaus heritage, primarily as it relates to Herbert Bayer, who was a student and a teacher at the Bauhaus, relocated to Aspen in 1946 to design the Aspen Institute and lived in the community until 1976.

The National Association of Catering & Events gathered on Sept. 11 at the Denver Botanic Gardens to commemorate the NACE’s 10th anniversary and provide a glimpse into the future. A panel of several founding members—Monica Cheeks of Hyatt Hotels, Cal Cheney of All Digital Photo & Video, Amanda Michalek of AORN and Brandi Pressgrove of Reckon Creative—discussed how the chapter got started, favorite programs from the past and how networking through NACE has helped grow their businesses and more.
