• Seven Springs Mountain Resort Offers Adventurous Teambuilding

Soon the scenery around Seven Springs Mountain Resort will be ablaze with fall foliage providing the perfect backdrop for a teambuilding event at the resort. Seven Springs is about an hour southeast of Pittsburgh and offers a peaceful mountain setting for meetings and teambuilding opportunities, which are great for staff, classmates or friends of all courage levels.
 
 “A lot of times traditional teambuilding things tend to separate people,” said John Hess, director of sales. However, the outdoor challenge course at Seven Springs is close to the ground and designed to produce good group dynamics, not fear.
 
Team building encompasses experiential and adventure learning by encouraging individuals to work cooperatively, challenge themselves in a supportive environment, improve self-esteem and learn creative approaches to problem-solving. Groups participate in games, travel through obstacle stations and decide ways to solve proposed challenges together.  “Everybody has to work together,” Hess emphasized.
 
In contrast, the resort’s Alpine Tower is a physical climbing challenge for those not afraid of heights. Groups may choose one of the other resort activities including culinary activities, indoor bowling, mini golf or one of resort’s two extensive zipline courses for further teambuilding. 
 
“Most of the groups we’ve done teambuilding with come back multiple times,” Hess said.
 
For the more formal side of gatherings, the resort offers a wide variety of meeting and banquet spaces including 18 meeting rooms with a total of 60,000 square feet of meeting space. Other available amenities include state-of-the-art audio visual equipment and catering menus designed to meet all budgets.

There are all sorts of happenings for meeting and event planners to plug groups into in Snowmass Village this summer, taking some of the pressure off building a memorable and effective agenda. 

 

With meetings returning to normal as the COVID-19 pandemic levels out, outdoor mountain pursuits are finding more time on meeting agendas. Taking events outdoors not only boosts attendees’ comfort level as they ease back into in-person meetings, time spent in nature is proven to improve brain health and stimulate creative thinking as well.

Sheraton Dallas Hotel has introduced a new outdoor event space under its new event programming, Dare to Outdoors. The hotel’s catering team has partnered with Pacific Plaza Park, a 3.7-acre green space in Downtown Dallas. The park features a 31,950 square-foot lawn space and permanent seating, as well as night-sky friendly lights for star-watchers. Three food truck power outlets are available and standard outlets are located throughout the park.
