Experiences Made Easy
There is something about circling around a fire, whether a more controlled experience like fire pits and fireplaces or natural and wild in the form of a campfire or bonfire. As we’ve been out and about visiting properties and taking in unique Colorado experiences, fire keeps coming to the forefront. Is it a trend? We’re not sure, but here’s a glimpse at some of the coolest yet hottest fire settings and performers in the state.
Cozy Mountain Fires
BACKCOUNTRY SNOWCAT TOURS: Cozy up in Devil Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa’s new heated, eight-passenger Pisten Bully snowcat for a one-hour Happy Hour Tour that includes taking in incredible views, learning about local wildlife and history, and stopping at the Lakeside Yurt for a hot beverage.
One of the most popular features of Snowmass is that 96 percent of lodging is ski in/ski out and only steps away from hiking, mountain biking and other fair-weather fun. Lodging properties with meeting space, the 18,000-square-foot Westin Snowmass Conference Center and 8,000-square-foot Base Village Conference Center managed by Viceroy Snowmass are prime places to mix productive meetings with outdoor recreation.
Earlier this winter, I visited Snowmass to experience some of the many changes that continue to happen in the base village area and to enjoy some amazing powder skiing. On my must-visit list has been seeing the major overhauls at Westin Snowmass and Wildwood Snowmass that were unveiled last ski season.
